    Venerable Chuan Hou was born in Fujian Province, China, and has been influenced by Buddhism since young. After his ordination, he attended the Buddhist College of Min Dong in Fujian, followed by the Buddhist Academy of China in Beijing. Thereafter, he studied at the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies at University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, at the invitation of the Buddhist College of Singapore, he was appointed to assist in academic-related matters. He is currently the Deputy Rector of BCS, overseeing Monastic Training and Administration Offices.

    Venerable Chuan Li, who was born in Sichuan, came to contact with Buddhism at very young age thanks to the influence of his mother who is a devoted lay Buddhist. Having become renounced, he had studied Buddhism at Si Chuan Buddhist College and Buddhist Academy of China in Beijing respectively. From 2005 to 2007, he did his higher study in Buddhism at Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, and then went to study in India. He joined the Buddhist College of Singapore in September 2009.

    Venerable Chuan Deng, born in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China, was ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1997. He studied at the Buddhist College of Minnan during 2001 and 2005. While studying at the college he was selected as a member of the team accompanying the Buddha’s Tooth Exhibition Tour to Thailand in 2003. In the following year, he was also selected for the Chinese Buddhist Musical Performance Tour to America, Canada, Taiwan, Hong Hong, Macau and other cities. He served the college after graduation and soon was transferred to the Xiamen Buddhist Association. In 2006, he was appointed as Secretary of the Nanputuo Monastery. Ven. Chuan Deng has been a Class Mentor with BCS since 2007.
