Future Development

The College will invest more than S$30 million to build an integrated campus, which is estimated to house hundreds of resident lecturers and students…

In anticipation of the local and overseas Sangha’s demand for professional talents, the college will progressively establish and run a research institute in the near future, providing a multi-discipline research centre for outstanding undergraduates from within and overseas institutions for further studies, grooming future Buddhist leaders and scholastics for the Sangha community. Furthermore, the College also hopes to foster healthy cooperative partnerships with other tertiary Buddhist education and research organizations through the signing of memorandum of understanding (MOU). Through this initiative, the college hopes to negotiate for the awarding of bachelor’s degree for our graduates, to jointly conduct the research projects or to actualize plans for student exchange programmes. In addition, the college will gradually compile its own academic journals and establish a publishing house for Buddhist academic works.
Apart from the ongoing process of boosting the solid faculty, the Buddhist College of Singapore is constructing a new teaching block on the site of the sanctuary in Kong Meng San Phor Kark See. Occupying a land area of 10,272 sqm, it will be a multi-purpose building housing teaching, research, office, sports, hostel and other facilities.

A brand new building will rise from the ground in the near future, to groom more Buddhist talents.
