Welcome to our college
An institution to nurture outstanding Buddhist leaders of the future.
Established in Singapore, to meet the needs of the Buddhist community and serve all mankind.
The Buddhist College of Singapore is a tertiary institution established by Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery. It was founded in 2005 and enrolled its first cohort of students in August 2006. The founding purpose of BCS is to contribute to the continual development of Chinese Buddhism and its spread in the English-speaking world by providing the necessary human resources through education. This is accomplished by nurturing our students to be effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin, grounded in right view and knowledge while possessing the ability to engage in promulgation and academic research.
Located within the premises of the majestic and renowned Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, BCS is unique among similar institutions, not only because it is the first educational institution for Sangha members in Singapore. More importantly, it consists of highly qualified teaching staff, a teaching philosophy infusing both Eastern and Western methodology, as well as a library containing a wide range of English and Chinese resources.
