On 11 March 2019, the Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS) held its re-opening ceremony for the new semester. Venerable Kwang Sheng was glad to welcome the students back to the College. He urged the students to take this good opportunity to study hard and encouraged students to attend the 2019 BCS meditation retreat, which will be conducted in a branch temple of Ajahn Chah’s Thai forest tradition. He also emphasized that being grateful brings a lot of positive energy, and cited scientific research that being grateful will rewire the neurons and make a person happier. When a person has a grateful mind, it changes his perception and prevents negative states of mind from being amplified. Last but not least, the Rector exhorted the students to nurture the vast Bodhicitta mind, and the Buddhist concepts of inclusivism and open-mindedness.
