Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS) 2018 Student Recruitment Entrance Examinations were held at BCS, Buddhist College of Minnan in China, Sri Lanka and Cambodia.

The 5th Cohort of Chinese BA graduates started their 10-day graduation trip to Indonesia, Myanmar and Thailand, led by Venerable Chuan Li, the Class Mentor.

Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng congratulated the students on completing their studies and earning their qualifications.

During the convocation, the Supreme Patriach of Thailand, Most Venerable Somdet Phra Ariyavaongsagatanana, conferred Bachelor, Master, PhD and Honorary PhD degrees to an estimated 4,000 graduates from around the world, including Sri Lanka, Korea and Taiwan.

The history of the spread of Buddhism from the East spanning over a thousand years can be likened to a magnificent art piece, illustrating the trials and tribulations of eminent monastics westbound to receive the Dharma, or coming east to spread the Buddha’s words; not to mention the countless eminent patriarchs holding noble aspirations, committing to ascetic practices, praying each step of the way up famous mountains in homage to the Buddha.

Professor Dr. Boonton Dockthaisong, Permanent Lecturer of International Programme, Faculty of Social Science of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) led a delegation of about 30 Venerables, lecturers, administrators and students on a study visit to the Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS).
